★ Why I Do What I Do ★

In 1998 I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was in my mid-twenties.  I am unashamedly a born again Christian.  God was so merciful to use my then fiancé to model a different lifestyle then the one I was living who led me out of darkness and into the light.  Since then, God has cultivated a real burden in my heart to minister to people in need, whether it is relational, financial or spiritual.

Over the years I have consistently prayed The Prayer of Jabez (see 1 Chronicles 4:10 NKJV) with an emphasis on God “enlarging my territory,” or another way to say it, to increase my influence on others not for personal gain but for the advancement of the Kingdom of God.  I love to teach, encourage, and help people, so in response I started a public anonymous Facebook page in 2013, called Daily Dependence,” and shortly afterwards an Instagram account called “Daily_Dependence.”  And then Twitter as well…@DailyDepend!

All these Social Media platforms are anonymous because I want God to receive all the glory!  These pages are utilized for posting daily scriptures, encouragement and inspirational thoughts to help people place their dependence on God…hence the name Daily Dependence!

What does “Daily Dependence” mean?

The late, great motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar once said:79 - Daily Dependence - Zig Ziglar - Motivation 2

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing, that’s why we do it daily.”

If you agree, then these social media pages are for you!  I truly believe that we need to approach each day as a clean slate and what better way to prepare you for the day’s opportunities/challenges then to read positive and motivation posts!

The basis for the name also comes from one of my favorite verses in the Bible…2 Corinthians 12:9a and 10b…

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness…For when I am weak, then I am strong.”

Each day we need a daily dose of God.  Depend on Him!

What a mighty promise from God!  This really has become my life verse that everything is based on.  I know myself, each day I need a daily dose of what He wants to speak into my life for God’s grace is sufficient for anything and everything we will face!

On June 24, 2014, I posted my very first blog on here and which was a huge leap of faith because the commitment level is much different then throwing up a status update and I have loved every minute of it!  The genesis came from my wife who pointedly recognized that Twitter, Facebook and Instagram really are not the forums to share extended “Thoughts of the Day” that delve deeper than the maximum character limit in the status update box.  I also have to say I have loved the outlet it has afforded me to not only share what God has placed on my heart but I have found that it has also allowed me to mediate and study God’s Word in greater detail than I have before.

So when can you can expect a new post?  I am glad you asked…

Also I want to ask if you have been blessed by our site, would you consider sharing our blog with your connections?  This is all for the building of God’s Kingdom and I need your help!

This blog covers a vast amount of content so we have organized it into categories with specific areas of emphasis that may be of interest to you:

Posts where we are looking into the fundamentals of Christianity, and getting back to the roots of the Christian faith.

Posts that are focused on the Holy Spirit who is the “Unsung Member of the Holy Trinity.”  God gave us Him, yes I said Him, The Holy Spirt is a person not a thing, vapor or ghost (though He is referred to as the “Holy Ghost” in some translations of the Bible) to be our counselor, comforter and helper.  It is critical that we are in sync with the Holy Spirit if we want to live the overcoming life!

Posts that have a special meaning to me that I would recommend reading.

Posts that are focused on what my wife and I learned at Watermark Church’s Marriage class called “re|engage.”

Posts where we are looking into the Biblical Worldview of Money (How our Finances and Possessions should be handled from God’s Perspective)

So why do I do what I do?  Simple…LEGACY!  I want to leave a lasting influence for the Kingdom of God that will not only impact my two beautiful daughters, but for generations to come!

There is a lot here for you and I pray that God would speak through these posts!

  3. Hey there. I am a inexperienced Bus Driver (School) and was trying to better be set up for my assignment at CVS Caremark. This is the reason I came to your page. Being grown in Daviston and heading out to class at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (PA) in Little River, has assisted me to prepare for my future.
